Volvero

Volvero is designed to be the 'Airbnb of vehicles', aiming to improve the way people fulfill their mobility needs. Our app creates a system where people can access a car, motorbike or commercial vehicle in the most efficient and sustainable way, saving time and money. By registering on our platform vehicle owners can set availability, price and other conditions, and accept or reject drivers' requests. At the same time, drivers can choose the vehicle and sharing conditions that best suit their needs. Using innovative technologies, Volvero ensures maximum security and transparency by providing information such as the safety performance of owners and drivers. Through smart contracts created at the start of the journey, we provide unique insurance packages covering drivers and all types of vehicles without outdated paperwork.  
The highly innovative nature of the service, together with its significant environmental and social impacts, make Volvero a crucial service for improving mobility and the well-being of society. In today's transport sector, whose center of gravity is still the use of owned vehicles, there is a large amount of idle capacity estimated to be  96% of their lifetime. Adoption of car sharing solutions means that fewer vehicles circulate in cities as each one is used more, thus increasing the actual average utilisation. In this respect, Volvero, by providing a marketplace, connects owners and drivers, enabling the use of underused vehicles and offering drivers a wide range of efficient mobility options. Benefits include a decrease in demand for new vehicles, resulting in saving of natural resources used in their production processes. We also contribute to the reduction of pollution and emissions, the reduction of traffic jams, and the need for urban parking spaces. The wellbeing of communities is further promoted with our aim to solve social problems: inequality among people with different purchasing power, lack of safety experienced by the most vulnerable and existing barriers to accessing transport. Our service alows this by offering the possibility of mobility to those disadvantaged by not owning a vehicle. In terms of safety, Volvero also improves road safety by using data analysis that encourages safe driving behaviour.
Volvero is a game-changer as it leverages advanced technologies matched with a vehicle-sharing service. First of all, it offers an insurance policy that covers various types of vehicles (cars, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, vans, etc.) of private and commercial owners. Moreover, it uses technology for data analytics of drivers’ behaviours. The software embedded in the app is based on data produced by the sensors of the mobile phones of drivers (GPS, gyroscope and accelerometer). It collects data while driving and performs data analytics (AI) to give scores to users and third parties reducing hazardous conducts of users through gamification by rewarding them with credits that can be spent in the partnership program. All data, contracts and insurances are stored in a distributed ledger (blockchain) allowing for improved data transparency, reliability and maximum security. 
The benefits of using Volvero are not limited to private owners, but also affect larger entities such as corporate bodies. Volvero supports companies and corporations in the transition to more innovative and sustainable models. Players like SMEs or bigger firms own fleets of vehicles: by joining our service they optimise the costs of their commercial vehicles by renting them to private users such as students, tourists, and families. The solution proposed implies several benefits that do not require large investments on their part either in time or money. Also, we help these companies calibrate and manage their impact on the environment by improving their rating in terms of sustainability and use of green practices, therefore, increasing their overall attractiveness to a more environmentally conscious customer base. On the other hand, from a monetary point of view, the use of Volvero for SMEs contributes to the generation of additional income. Car dealers, as well, can rent out unsold vehicles that would otherwise remain parked on site while car rentals transform their business model from an outdated to a modern and profitable one using our digital platform.
All this is made possible by Volvero's participation in accelerator programs and the strong relationships we have been able to forge since our establishment. Most recently, we have taken part in: Tech4Good in Israel, Clean Cities Accelerator, Start-up Chile. Asides staying up-to-date with technological innovations and sustainability trends through these programs, we are able to  collaborate with other ventures. We recently ran a pilot project at Tour & Taxis in Brussels, organised by the EIT Urban Mobility under the RAPTOR competition, where we emerged winners. We proved to be the best alternative for a more sustainable mobility offering in a project focused on converting an abandoned urban area into an ecological and sustainable neighborhood. We have also developed partnerships with players such as Impact Hub, the EIT and government authorities in Italy and Spain and institutions such as the University of Padua and Bocconi as key partners in our operational activities. 
Behind all this is the Volvero team, composed of the founder Marco, with experience in finance, 3 technical co-founders and 4 employees. Given the mix of our backgrounds and expertise we work very well together and are a well balanced team. We are able to cover the key aspects and facets to run a technology startup, spanning from general management, finance, product development, law and legal, software development and brand identity. We believe that transportation and mobility solutions need to be changed for the future of our planet and Volvero’s team has the right energy and commitment to do it.
